i feel like i've done so much in the last 24 hours. well, last night, i met up with debbie (sans husband) to go clubbing...we ended up at a place called ohm that was pretty swanky...bass-filled techno upstairs and laid-back hip-hop downstairs. it's really nice to be a girl sometimes...debbie and i walked up to the long line and were quickly ushered to the front where we were instantly given tickets to get in for free. anyhow, about 45 minutes later or so, we met up with my friend jimmy whom i haven't spoken to in over a year. he brought his girlfriend, carol, and his friend dan. it was a pretty fun night...i haven't gone dancing in a scene like that in so long. seattle can play music like that but no one gets dressed up at all the way they do in nyc. i must admit, it's amusing to see all the staten island guidos hitting on all the long island chicks. debbie left midway through the night and it was just me, jimmy, carol and dan....we continued dancing and partying it up until about 5am when we left the club and wandered around trying to find food, eventually settling at a pizza joint in union square, near dan's place. after eating there, dan insisted on "calling a car" for me to get Uptown rather than taking the A train all the way up. he works for some hedge fund where he can "call a car" at any hour to give him or whomever a ride to wherever, no questions asked. so we said goodbye to jimmy & carol and i went up to dan's place to wait for this car until around 6:15am...eventually getting back to anna's apartment near 7am. now that's a total night out in the city.

i didn't get much sleep, obviously...woke up in the morning and Anna & I left to go all the way to Chinatown to meet up with Li Mei to eat dim sum. Being on her crazy Wall Street schedule as she is, Mei only had about an hour to eat with us. it was nice chatting with her about everything that's occurred over the last year. After lunch, I attended a baby naming ceremony for a friend of Anna's mother, whom I also saw. We hung out there for awhile, took off, bought myself some Tevas and then headed over to the Circle in the Square Theatre to watch Rocky Horror Show Live, the B'way musical revival----what a fun show! It starred Dick Cavett, Joan Jett and Daphne Rubin-Vega. The actor who played Frank 'N' Furter was absolutely amazing. After the show, we grabbed some quick dinner and then met up with Debbie and her husband, Nick, for some martinis in the lounge at the swanky Royalton Hotel. This was my first time meeting Nick who was a really cool guy. I'm really happy for Debbie.

We're now finally back at Anna's apartment and ready to retire to bed...very tired. It was a very chilly evening...snow is starting to stick to the ground. I hope the snow doesn't become an issue for flying out of D.C.
